Fork Mounted Fifth Wheel
The fork-mounted 5th Wheel Attachment provides a simple and effective means of moving and rearranging trailers and chassis. Four versions of the attachment are available that range in capacity, providing options for efficiently moving empty chassis, chassis with mounted empty containers, chassis with mounted full containers, and trailers.
Four sizes of fifth wheel are available: small, medium, large, and XL. The differences between these sizes are capacity and the fork pocket size and spacing.
Small: The small size is used on Class IV* fork trucks. The level 2 and 3 units for this version have fork pocket openings that are 5 ¼ tall x 7 ¼” wide. Pockets are set on 40 ½” centers.
Medium Version: The medium size is used on fork trucks with a capacity from 17,500 lbs to 36,000 lbs*. The level 2 and 3 units for this version have fork pocket openings that are 5 ¼ tall x 9 ¼” wide. Pockets are set on 48” centers.
Large Version: The large size is used on fork trucks with a capacity from 45,000 lbs to 65,000 lbs*. The level 2 and 3 units for this version have fork pocket openings that are 7 ¼ tall x 11 ¼” wide.
Extra Large Version: The XL size is used on fork trucks with a capacity from 45,000 lbs to 65,000 lbs*. The level 2 and 3 units for this version have fork pocket openings that are 7 ¼ tall x 13 ¼” wide.
*The capacity of the fork truck will be lower than its actual rating based on the 69” load center of the 5th wheel. An OEM rating is required to determine the truck capacity.
